Michael Gurau, CEI Community VenturesMike is president of CEI Community Ventures, a venture capital fund located in Portland, ME. His background includes twelve years of venture capital, most of it spent with Advent International in its London and Boston offices, and four years of startup operations experience, including work in product management, marketing and strategy with Silknet Software (now Kana Communications), a software development company in Manchester, NH. Prior to Silknet, he was General Manager of Living Balance, a direct mail and eCommerce start-up that was part of Oxford Health Plans' Alternative Medicine Division. Mike earned his BS Finance from Babson College and his MBA from the University of Virginia's Darden School.

Kip Moore, Little Diamond Island Enterprises Kip created Little Diamond Island Enterprises in 1993 to make early-stage investments in technology companies, focusing on software, computer services and data communications. Prior to Little Diamond, he was a General Partner of Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, a New York-based venture capital firm making investments in information processing and health care companies from 1981 through 1993. From 1975-1981, Kip was an executive with Automatic Data Processing; from 1972-1975, he was an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Cornell University. He received a Ph.D. and M.A. in Computer and Communication Sciences from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in Mathematics from Dartmouth College. |

Burns, CFA, Small Enterprise Growth Fund Fund Manager of the Small Enterprise Growth Fund, a venture capital fund created by the Maine legislature in 1995, John has more than 21 years of experience in institutional investing. Prior to this service, he was Second Vice President and Portfolio Manager for UNUM Corporation, where he managed domestic and international portfolios. John graduated from the University of Maine and holds a MS degree in Resource Economics from Penn State University and an MBA, with high distinction, from Babson College. As vice president of sales at XRT North America, a leading purveyor of financial value chain management software solutions, he lead a team of seasoned sales executives. Prior to joining XRT, Glen served both as director of sales for MarketMAX, and as director of sales and marketing for KPMG I/S Quantum Product. He was director of the treasury resource group of ICMS International, a leading treasury workstation provider. Glen earned a bachelor's degree in finance from The Pennsylvania State University and a master's in finance from Western New England College. |

Robert Henchey, Speranza SystemsBob has more than thirty-five years experience in banking and treasury, including many years of service as Vice President in JP Morgan’s Commercial and Investment Banking Group. He was President of First Sierra Financial, Inc., an internet finance portal for small business equipment leasing, and was most recently the Director of Capital Markets Products for Automated Financial Systems, a provider of commercial lending software and services to leading financial institutions. Bob was also Assistant Treasurer at Mead Pulp Sales, Inc. and a financial analyst at General Electric Credit Corporation. |
